PG&E has made a unilateral change to the newly negotiated Vacation Purchase Plan benefit. The Union has filed a Business Manager’s Grievance on the issue, as management should not be changing this or other terms in our contract without the Union’s agreement. This change also affects non-union management employees.

PG&E now requires that the cost of Purchased Unpaid Vacation (PUV) days occur at the time taken, rather than spread out through an annual salary deduction. Management is unwilling to follow the original agreement for the Vacation Purchase Plan, or make the minor changes which ESC had recommended. Therefore, currently, any 2017 PUV days will be considered unpaid time when they are used, and unused PUV days simply go away at the end of the year. More details…
