Last week, President John Mader and Executive Director Frankie Preciado met with the new PG&E CEO, Patti Poppe. The Union stressed the importance of engineering at PG&E in protecting public safety and the immediate need to take appropriate actions to avoid a catastrophic wildfire caused by PG&E. In addition the Union opined that moving to a stable structure that employees could learn and adapt to would be helpful for PG&E. CEO Poppe asked probing questions about ESC and PG&E and confirmed her desire for ESC’s input through regular, open lines of communications.  Specifically, she shared her plans on inter-departmental collaborative teams at a regional level. The tone of this introductory meeting was positive and we look forward to many more to come.
