Results are coming in from the new Letter of Agreement 21-05, which created the category of “Provisional Senior Estimator.” The joint Union-Company Estimator Training and Testing Governance Committee has approved the new title and pay rate to 11 current Estimators, based on their qualifications. These ESC members received pay raises as significant as $7.24/hour. Most qualified by having a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, although a few qualified based on their experience working at PG&E and other utility contractors. A routine Estimator may qualify for Provisional Senior pay either through a BS in Engineering and one year of experience or a total of four years of experience in commodity-specific utility infrastructure design. If you think you may qualify, review LOA 21-05 in detail and speak to your supervisor or shop steward.
