We are saddened to learn that longtime steward for PG&E, John Davidson, recently passed away. John was a strong and loyal supporter of ESC and a respected advocate for his fellow union members in the Fresno area. He began his career with PG&E in 1978, when he was hired to be a meter reader. He quickly rose through the ranks to become a Gas Serviceman, then an Estimator, and then eventually a Field Engineer in the Construction division. His frustration with working conditions propelled him into steward work, and the respect he held from both management and his colleagues, together with his penchant for fairness and hard work, helped him excel in this role. His selflessness and strong work ethic even brought him to New York in 2012, where he helped restore power to the residents of Brooklyn and Queens in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. His colleagues remember him fondly as a dependable steward with a big heart, sturdy smile, and room for friends.

John was also a devoted husband to his beloved wife Terrie, a father to 5 children, and a grandfather to 16, with one on the way. He was well-known and liked in his community, well-respected by his colleagues and union siblings, and will be deeply missed by all.
